Now, I know the Cold War is a very broad subject to make a blog about, but i wanted to keep the title short. What i really wanted to talk about was the mess that the Cold War caused, the paranioa, the missle build up and the so called "proxy wars" that sprang up. The end of the second world war left us with essentually two powers splitting up Europe, Capitialism and Communism. Niether side where ever chums, but they teamed up against the greater evil that was Adolf Hitler and s the war was coming into its final days it became a game of who got what. Both sides thought very deeply that the other could not be trusted and that they should prepare for eventual hostilities, this lead to things like the missle build up.(which we found out was essentially a one-horse race) This tension felt between the former Soviet Union and the United States absolutly dominated foriegn relations of both nations, and their allies throughout the course of the late twentieth century and its impact can still be felt in this century.
